GOD’S PURPOSE FOR YOU MAY NOT BE AS SPECIFIC AS YOU WOULD LIKE!

By Larry Fayer

God’s plan and purpose is to share His manifold wisdom and salvation through His church.  Since that is so, what is God’s purpose for you?  How do you fit in?  I can’t answer that question.  My answer to you must be: “I don’t know!  But you can figure it out for yourself.”  Here’s how.

One of the first things you must do is become comfortable with an understanding that God’s Word is accurate truth BUT IT IS NOT EXHAUSTIVE TRUTH.  Let me illustrate: I’ve read the Bible from cover to cover several times and nowhere in it does it say, “Larry Fayer, this is what your purpose is and what you should do.”  You are going to find the same thing when you look for your name in it.  The Bible gives us a lot of information about what God’s purpose is, but it doesn’t give each person a “personal blueprint” that tells him or her exactly what they should do.

Another thing to keep in mind is that God is not going to zap you with a lightning bolt and provide a complete, personalized, set of plans and purposes for you.  The idea that He will may sound romantic and even spiritual, but it just doesn’t happen that way.

The thought is this:  God’s purpose for you may not be as specific as you would like.  You are not going to find your name followed by a blueprint for your life in the Bible.  God is not going to zap you so that you know how you fit into His purpose.  But you can know it.
